I Still Think "Tweeting" Sounds Dirty

I've had a Twitter account since the spring of 2008 and in that time I've managed 19 tweets, 10 of which are REtweets and of those 10 retweets, 5 are at Jen.

Like your mother and Facebook and your grandma with email, I cannot master nor even understand The Twitter.

Which makes me :(

Is the purpose of it to have conversations? How does it differ from FB?

Every morning I watch those dingbats Dorothy Lucey and Jillian Reynolds on the Morning No News tweet like maniacs in between giving me the weather and babbling about celebrity gossip and I think, "I too, want to get on the Internet bandwagon and enjoy in the delights of twittering..." but then I remember that I still don't UNDERSTAND THE TWITTER and so more days go by.

Which means I cannot upload this Twitpix of EvaJun dressed like a Duggar.

And doesn't that make you sad?

I have no freaking clue what the purpose of Twitter is, but I do it for two reasons: 1) it helps me stay in touch with some of my local tweeps and 2) it drives a fair amount of traffic to my blogs. As far as the local folks are concerned, I actually set up coffees, runs, and other get togethers via Twitter.

And I feel totally honored that I am 5 of your retweets.

Don't get it. Don't want to. Don't understand how it's a "powerful marketing tool".

I have a Twitter account, but haven't been on it in months. I think you pretty much follow your favorite people (stars, athletes, musicians), and news stations, so you can get cool updates.

Los - I agree... which is why my Twitter account reads like a gossip rag!

Twitter is basically an annoyance to me.

I too, am flummoxed when it comes to Twitter. I have tried twice and failed. I just don't get it. Facebook, I totally get and use it on my iPhone all the time.

If you find out a magic answer, let me know :-)
