My biggest concerns are the economy, the war and the environment.
I'm voting for Obama because I believe he will do his very best to get us out of the crises we face. I don't think we can keep going the direction we've been going and I don't see McCain saying he's going to fix anything.
I'm so pumped up for Obama and I think he's got a very good chance of winning... Very exciting!! :)
i'm voting for obama, despite my own concerns that my taxes will increase. our foreign policy is not going to improve under a republican and that HAS to change.
Until recently Obama had my vote, but now I am not so sure his financial reform is what we need, especially his plan to add more taxes. I guess I am "on the fence".
It's backwards to say you want to vote McCain because you can't afford new taxes. True, taxes are more likely to increase with a Democrat. But with McCain's Bush-like affirmations about foreign policy and war our country will get further and further in debt. Taxes are one small part of a country's economy. With out better controlled spending and more even distribution of taxation, our poor economy will only continue.
I didn't love Clinton, but new home purchase was at an all time high when he was in office. Our country had a surplus of funds. Since Bush has been in office things have downspiraled. Obviously, with 9/11 things changed drastically and they would have done so whether there was a Republican or a Democrat in office. But with McCain, we will only have more of the same war-mongering, spendthrift, ways. Jobs will continue to decrease and money will get even tighter.
Obama...reasons: judges, economy, our reputation around the world, is he perfect, nope, but at least he is a fresh new direction and maybe we can get the f-ck out of Iraq.
Obama all the way.... And I agree with Anonymous at 10.43... It's more about the war and the billions we have spent there unnecessarily than the price of gas for little old me I'm afraid. Remember I was born in the UK where gas is hugely expensive - to the tune of $11 a gallon. Though these are tough times, let's still try and focus on the bigger picture - foreign police and our dependency on foreign oil!!
I am a fiscal conservative but a social liberal. Quite honestly, I am worried about the balance of the Supreme court being too conservative and that could very well drive my vote.
I am very scared of the unleashing of the true Obama. He is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Experience, if not 100% agreed with, is everything. And you can't have discussions with the bad guy...it's like trying to negotiate with a 4 year old. McCain, Baby.
I have no idea, to be honest. I like some things and dislike some things about both of these guys. Heck, either of them will be better than the monkey we currently have as prez.
I'm thinkin' Obama...yes, comments above regarding new taxes is a drawback, but right now, we are creating a deficit for the war and trying to keep up with our society's needs...something has to crack sooner or later. We can have the best of both worlds, low taxes, support a war, etc. We definitely need a change.
Interesting question! I think the economy will right itself no matter who's President. Recessions happen, then recoveries happen when the private sector rights itself.
If the question was, "who would you rather have come to your backyard BBQ?" Id vote Obama..while McCain might have some good stories to tell, Obama seems more fun.

OBAMA hands down. Republican house hold has crossed major party lines... LEt's look at the BIG picture...not just the tax issue..... WE need new blood, fresh young blood.... I saw and heard Obama Speak last October, I was a fan before, but hearing him and seeing him live made me believe in him..... I AM SOO PUMPED! I have never ever been this politically involved...nor have I EVER DONATED BEFORE> I donated in the pre election and have again...HE IS TAKING no government money, no lobby money...just money from ppl who believe in him.... oh I COULD JUST WRITE forever about this topic....

I'm 100% NObama. I don't buy into all this Hope...New Blood...crapola. I'm a diehard Republican. I just wish we had someone else to vote for. I can't find a lot wrong with McCain (please - no one send me a list) it's just that part of me wishes we had someone else.
Why? Because I like to see things blow up on TV. If he is elected, I will get to see Iran, Russia, and pobably good amounts of the USA blown up! Now THAT is entertainment!
Oh, and as far as taxes go. I think John McCain's ideas of keeping the Bush tax cuts permanent, going even further towards making sure NO corporation EVER has to pay taxes again (you know, because the mere two thirds that already don't pay taxes is not enough!), and giving us hard workin folk in the middle a little pittance of a break is a wonderful idea!
Combine his brilliant plan of attacking the world with his ingenious plan of no tax revenue, and you have a terrific deficit that America will NEVER recover from! HUZZAH!
