Thank You, Thanksgiving

The Eva Las Vegas household is on their way to Catalina to spend the Thanksgiving weekend enjoying a little rest and relaxation. There are vague plans to play tennis and hike and swim, but my guess is that drinking and napping will be the major activities.

I have so much to be thankful for... my life has been a charmed one, and even through the rough and scary patches, I have always had great support and care and love and faith... with those blessings nothing has ever seemed insurmountable. I have always known a great safety net which protects me... keeps me from having to face some aspects of life that are unjust and ugly.

This year, I give the greatest thanks for my family and their safety... I wish that everyone around the world, especially here, in America where we pride ourselves on making dreams come true, could be giving those same thanks. I want our gay citizens to give thanks with their husband or their wife. I want the parents of our soldiers to give thanks with their children at their table. I want the spouses of those overseas to look across and ask their sweeties to please pass the rolls.

I give thanks because I have hope that one day, one day soon, those wishes of mine will be a reality for many.

I am giving thanks for all of you... those of you who come back here, post after post and read me and comment or lurk, but who give me a space to share myself and allow me a glimpse into your lives.

Happy Thanksgiving, Blog-Land... may your turkey be juicy and may your hearts be full.

And of course, it is Mamarazzi Tuesday... go check out who you are thankful you are not.

Happy Thanksgiving Kristin. I am usually a lurker, but since you said you were thankful for lurkers too I thought I would comment.
I love your blog and read it daily. Your kids are so cute and I love when you post pictures of them. You sound like a great mom who doesn't "sweat the small stuff". And you and your husband seem to have an amazing marriage.
Have a happy Thanksgiving in Catalina. It sounds like the type of glamorous vacation you and your family would take!
