A Little Of This & A Little Of That

Guess Who Turned 3?

I never in a million years imagined having this beautiful and wondrous daughter... this child who lights up every room she enters, who loves "knock knock" jokes and eats sushi.

Yesterday morning, Hugh and I spoke of Eva's birth family and wondered just what they were feeling today... & if only there were some way we could let them know that she is more than ok... she is loved and treasured and adored... I try very hard not to victimize/romanticize Eva's birth family, but I know that someone cared enough about her to bring her to the SWI... someone made sure she would be found immediately and taken to safety, and I pray that person has some sort of peace.

Eva celebrated her third birthday twice... Deysi hosted a little party at the park for all the other nannies and their charges (and OMG, I know, don't email me, I know how absurd it is that her nanny threw her a party, but that's how the nannies roll around these parts and I for one do not want to get in the way of their fajitas and pinatas and their fiesta), and Sunday, her actual birthday, was celebrated at home with friends and family and Princess Ariel.

Despite the look on her face, Eva was actually enamored of Princess Ariel (even though I thought she looked like a tweaker) and she did a damn find job of entertaining 10 little girls for an hour and a half...

Now, it is Mamarazzi Tuesday and you should all click on over there to read what we already knew...

And then come back because I want to know what you think about cheating. Have you? Have you been cheated on? Is a one night stand forgivable and an affair not? When does it become an affair and how about those inappropriate friendships?

Happy Birthday, Eva!
I do not think cheating is forgivable, but I might be willing to try if there were kids involved. I think more than once is NOT forgiveable and they better have a damn good attorney!

Happy Brithday Eva!

Man, Ariel need a good colorist...eek!

Cheating is not forgivable...none of it. If the effers start lying about all that it's only gonna get worse. Take it once, twice and you're a doormat.

I see enough of the gals who put up with it and end up with the skank infections their babe brings 'em home. Of course, I see those who share the skank infections too. Drag all the way around.

I'm no frou-frou prude but I cannot stand lies...they simply don't work for me.

Geesh, LOL, think I've been screwed over before...think it shows? ;0)

Happy 3rd Birthday, Miss Eva! You are gorgeous!

As far as cheating, well, I've never cheated or been cheated on so I don't speak from experience. But I think that there is some room for forgiveness. If the cheating party has a real ongoing problem or is tres cavalier, well forget it. But if it's a one time thing as a result of other problems that can be worked through, maybe forgiveness can work. The question is where do you draw the line?? I sure don't have the answer.

Eva looks like a true princess! Ariel, not so much. Happy Third Birthday!!!

Thank goodness Angelina doesn't do it for my husband. Once the trust is gone it is over.

Happy 3rd birthday Eva!!!

I think it's sweet the nannies have a party.

Happy Birthday Eva! She just keeps getting more and more beautiful!

I've been cheated on, and I've cheated. But yes.....I agree that once the trust is gone, the relationship is doomed. I've tried to stay in a relationship after being cheated on, and I just could never get over it. It haunts your mind every night.

Happy Birthday to your beautiful Princess,Eva...
She is absolutley adorable....

And I went over to mamarazzi, and as for the cheating...
No,I have never cheated or been cheated on...
But,fmy good friend's husband just left her gavve her the whole song and dance that after their two daughters... He lost himself... and that he was depressed and yadda yadda yada...
She fell for it the whole nine yards... She foundout by accident a few days ago(He left the family home in August), that up he was setting up to live with one of HER 'good friends'...
They have been having an affair for a year...It is so sad... the home is broken...the trust of a husband and a friend... and two girls... under the age of six...

And as for Angelina Jolie... Freak... I mean..i remember the Oscars where she looked like she was a bit too up close and personal with her brother...and then the whole blood thing with Mr. Sling Blade...
Geez...
Says a lot about Brad...and his life will at sometime amount to the Pitts...

Happy Birthday Eva!! She's just gorgeous in her princess dress!

I would DIE if I was cheated on! It's just WRONG. I don't think I could ever forgive that kind of betrayal. I could never cheat on someone I truly love and respect, never.

Love the pretty, pretty princess look!

The nanny has a party for her? That seems like something you would see on "The OC". Did you even go?

Eva is gorgeous...Happy Birthday to her!

Cheating. I have never been cheated on. I cheated on a boyfriend once in high school and have always felt guilty about it. It's something that I really think more people need to take seriously, as in, don't do it, you know? If you feel the need to cheat then you need to really examine your current relationship and either work on it or get out of it, you know?

You and Eva look great in that picture. Although I hadn't pictured you with long, flaming-red hair.

And, I'm not sure I understood the question at the end (since I didn't follow your link), but obviously, if I were Eva, I wouldn't put up with cheating . . . AT ALL!

Eva is gorgeous. Disney makes some serious errors but I've gotta tell you, Eva looks fabulous in her little princess dress!

I cheated on a college boyfriend once. He wanted to break up with me but he couldn't stand the idea of being alone. I messed around a little with another guy but it just didn't feel right so I ended it quickly.

I don't know if I've been cheated on. I think it's forgivable once and only once if it was a lust/curiosity thing that ended quickly and permanently.

What Brad Pitt did doesn't fit into that category!

Dude, Annonymous the OC is a TV show, not real. Please try to understand the concept.

Kristin, Ariel does look like a tweaker to me, but if she made all the little kids happy, that is all that matters. I think your nanny rocks personally. Happy Birthday to Eva. I can't believe she's 3 years old. what day was her birthday?

On the cheating....um...I don't think I'm the one to ask. I don't think I could ever forgive someone. Nope, I couldn't.

Happy birthday to your little princess! And I am totally getting that Ariel wig.

Definately not a fan of the cheating thing. After having it happen once, that was enough.

Happy birthday to Eva. What an amazing girl she seems to be.

Cheating=trouble. Been on both sides and it is lame all around. Because i have been a cheater I guess I may be willing to try to move past a single offense, although I have no idea if I could actualy do that. Luckily I will never have to find out.

Happy Birthday Princess Eva!!!!

Umm...cheating? For me, it's bad, bad, bad. But I suppose it depends on the situation and how the people feel about it.

Happy Birthday Eva! She looks darling! Just like a little princess.

Ariel does look like a tweaker.

Cheating is not forgivable. Ever. It completely breaks the trust that has to be there in a relationship, and in my opinion, can never be earned back.

Kristin said...

Oh Anonymous, of course I didn't go to the party... I used the time to get Botox and Restalyne injections... also to throw up so I can fit into my skinny jeans.

You are such an ass, Anonymous.

P.S. - Cheating is not forgivable in my book. Thank goodness I really haven't had to worry about that (this time around). :)

Happy B-day, Eva! Those pictures were great! She is lucky to have parents like you, who still care very much about her birth-parents.

Happy Birthday Eva !!! She is just adorable !!! I don't think you post enough pictures of her ... MY personal opinion.

Cheating is horrible. It effects so many. I went through it and it took many years for me to get over the emotional damage.

Anyone who can do Ariel's gig gets my two thumbs up, as looking after 10 kids can only be described as a hard day job!!!

Happy birthday Miss Eva!!!

How do you expect me to answer any question after that pic of Ariel???

I could say things like crack whore!! and she looks like she just washed up on the beach - but then again if she did really great with the kids...who am I to say anything ;)

Oh, The Joys said...

She is so gorgeous!

And cheating... well that is a LONG story.

rubyiscoming said...

whoa nelly! quite the post!! switching from "aaaawwww, how cute is 3 yr old Miss Eva" to "cheating 101" - my head is spinning.

in my 20s, i was a vigilant about no cheating. you cheat once, you are out.

while i still believe cheating is awful, i do know couples who have survived....not many, but a few. we have a policy that if you ever ever really feel like you are on the verge of cheating, we'll talk about it first and decide if the person MUST explore the new person and end our relationship then and there. you gotta have the trust, regardless of the (completely normal) attraction to someone else. Now, whether you act on that urge or not is a different story, but I think couples should be honest about it. just my 2 cents.

Ariel DOES look like a tweaker, at first I thought that was the nanny and I was like, WHAT THE HELL?? But then I read the caption and it made more sense. :) I'm glad she was good with the kids, that's all that counts!

Don't know what to say about cheating. It's too damn early in the morning to be thinking such deep thoughts. Why do you ask my dear?

Jodi said...

OHHHHHH, you asked because of the whole Brad & Angelina thing. My bad. I TOLD you it was early in the morning, geez give me a break already! Stop yelling at me! Geez....

You did in fact say in an entry that you do get botox. How old are you?
Is your nanny a full-time nanny and/ or is she part of the family? How did you find her? Do you work?

Happy Happy Eva! What a beautiful princess! As for cheating, no way no how. I have been with only one man in my entire life and it would be simply unforgivable for him to cheat on me. Fortunatly my husband feels same way. We have even had conversations where we agreed that even an intimate e-mail could be considered one form of cheating.

holly said...

Happy Birthday Eva! Such a beauty!

Cheating thing: ewww, long story for me too.
Nowadays; No way. No how.
I'm just lucky to have my health after the 1st husband.

Happy Birthday Eva!

yes and yes.

Maybe we're not meant to be monogamous?

Anonymous said...

Going to keep my comment anon thank you very much LOL no one needs to know my busines like this, but I'll answer your questions.

As far as cheating - I've never been faithful to any of my partners. Cheating is hard to forgive only if you're caught though and I've never been caught and I've been married for over 10 years.

Call me slutish or hoeish or a whore or what ever - don't care. Sex doesn't equate love with me. I enjoy the sex with the people I love - but I also enjoy sex with others.

The fact that I have sex with men who are not my partner and with other women - doesn't mean that I don't love my husband any less. It's just sex.

Kristin said...

wow, last anonymous (finally, someone who is anonymous and not just because they want to slag me off)... your answer was interesting to say the least... also, probably one of the most thought provoking?

Where do you meet the men/women you fool around with? Do you have affairs or just one night stands?

Adventures in Stepford said...

Kristin, you know how I feel about cheating.

I USED to feel the way many of these commenter do. NO WAY, ONE AND DONE, etc. blah blah. And then it happened to me. etc. blah blah.

Ya'll, it's just not as cut and dried as many of you think. And cheating on boyfriends/long term relationships is different than in the context of a marriage (I've had both, I do speak from experience there).

Anyway, just had to say my piece about that. You knew I would.
