Happy Memorial Day Weekend...

I have paint thinner in my pool, do you?

Remember this post?

It's like magic, our pool... we never know what we are going to find.

We are calling for the head of our painter on a silver platter (review your Bible stories if this confuses you).

***
I think we have to call the police... there is no way that this is any sort of accident... it is vandalism, pure and simple. When we first discovered the disaster we were just really bummed that we couldn't swim and just sort of put out... as the day has gone on the seriousness of the situation has dawned on us.

We have an electric cover on the pool which runs on a track just below the coping... many times the boys just run out, open the pool and jump in... I shudder to think of what have happened to them if they had done that today.

Tomorrow our contractor is coming over (as this is clearly something caused by one of his subs) and we will begin the process of figuring out what we need to do make the pool swim-able and safe.

If anyone has any thoughts on how best to clean this mess up, please, please email me.

Are you kidding? Are you going to set it on fire? If you do, take pics!

You really need to take the neon "fuck me" sign off your back, girlfriend!

How did paint thinner get in there?? Crazy.

Gee...would your painter's name be John by any chance?

I have a feeling that chlorine and paint thinner aren't a good combination!

I can't wait to hear HOW it go there!

And finally, hope that amidst all the chaos, you can have a relaxing Labor Day!!!

You just can't catch a break.

We don't have paint thinner in our pool, but we did find three mice, two frogs and a mole in our filter the other day. Doesn't really compare, does it?

Hmmmm, thank god no paint thinner in our pool ... and I'm debating which was worse - dog shit or paint thinner? I'm thinking...its a definite toss-up.

On a Silver platter with a bit of paint thinner in the eyes... That should do the trick!!!

Holy cow! Who the hell would do that and why??? If you find who did it, make them jump in the pool, THEN set it on fire and take pictures. :D

Eeeeek! Just checked back on you--whoa! Yes, call the police, definitely. My Hubby says to call a Hazmat specialist to see how to clean it up! Probably not the best news, but I'd hate to have your family swimming in that! I'm so glad the boys didn't cannonball in there!

I'm glad to hear you're going to call the police. I didn't comment yesterday because I didn't want to stir the pool water, so to speak -- but that's exactly what I was thinking.

How does paint thinner "accidentally" get in pool water? And if it somehow happened, what kind of person wouldn't report that? I shudder to think how paint thinner (even greatly diluted) could hurt someone if they had gone swimming.

Oh that sounds horrible. I wouldn't know where to begin cleaning that up.

Hope the bastards are the ones to fix the problem.

Just checked back...
Vandalism???
Wow...
And to think the boys normally jump into the poo????and what could have happened... it makes my stomach sick just thinking about it...
I am sorry that I have no solution to the thinner or your steps in the investigation...
You just have a woman at the other end of the world who is sending warm thoughts your way...
and sealed with a great deal of worry...
Take care of yourself woman...

That's awful.

Good luck figuring it out and cleaning it up.

Who does stuff like this? Especially if the person who did this is a sub-contractor and knows how dangerous these chemicals are. I call it worse than vandalism. Attempted murder, maybe?

Call the cops. And make your contractor figure out how to get it cleaned up. He is ultimately responsible.

That is absoutely crazy! That is definitely no accident. I'd call the cops.

Ann said...

OMGosh, I'd say have the contractor hire someone to professionaly clean it.

ditzymoi said...

i agree with the others...id make sure the contractor had someone come and professionaly clean it...
im trying to think of a way that paint thinner would end up in the pool and still be an accident ? im drawing a blank ....

Ack. That really sucks. I am SO SORRY. Yeah, I think you should kick some ass!

If its any consolation, I had my purse stolen this weekend. And its not about the money but it is about the fact that my favorite purse and my favorite pics of my little boy EVah were in there.

This sucks. And I just read your post from Friday that you were in the hospital. Good Lord, woman, what is happening over there?

The contractor will pay! I say drain the sucker and redo the water and have a pool guy come check it out.

Hoping things improve this week.

Wow, weird stuff happens to you. And I thought I specialized in weirdness. Does this make you feel better? I hope so.

holy crap!!! that's fucking bullshit!!! i want to know who did it, so we can kick serious ass... thank god the boys didn't go jumping in there...what the hell...damn it, people piss me off. what the hell was the point of that?

i'm sorry, sweets - i don't know how you make it safe, besides draining it...

For those of you who are thinking, "the hell", Melinda is a friend of mine from a million years ago who has a very very funny (password protected) blog... I am trying to get her to "open it up".

Also, the hell with Beta. She has it and I can't comment and I am hearing that others with Beta can't leave comments so what the hell is the point?

Thanks for all your good wishes folks... I will catch you all up in a proper post.

This really is shit. A terrible homecoming from hospital....
That's enough nonsense now though ok!
No more drama...
Its time you admitted that it was you who did it...just to give yourself something to blog about. The lengths you go to K....hospital, paint thinner. When will you realise that you are already very special on the inside.....?

and also post on my blog!

WHat kind of creep did this to you! Someone once put sugar in my gas tank when I was in high school-- totalled my car.
A think a silver platter is too nice.

Call a hazmat specialist or a disaster clean up company-- they should be able to fix it.
