There Is Just One Moon & One Golden Sun...

Now, my cousin, whom I have not seen in years (my wedding, maybe?) emails me today and via a series of blog linking has ended up here, at Eva Las Vegas, and thinks, "hmmm, that girl looks familiar" and "Hey, it's Kristin, my cousin" and so she emails me and I am all "DUDE!" because really, how friggin cool is the Internet!?

AND, yesterday afternoon my phone rings and the person says, "Are you home?" and there is only one other person besides me who starts conversations off in the middle and that is my high school boyfriend and so he came over and, despite the fact that I looked like HELL, I let him in the door and we had a great little catch up and really, I am the poster-child for amicable breakups because I am still friends with the 3 or so guys that I had truly serious relationships with, and he so didn't care that I looked like hell and I think that is because when we see each other it is with the blessing of teen-memory rose colored glasses.

When I called Hugh to tell him he sort of huffed and said, "I am sure you would be equally ok if one of my ex-girlfriends came over" and honestly folks, if they weren't all tweakers and nightmares, I would be. He had to agree. But, cute that he was a little jealous, right?

Today, I am counting on my college physics professor to pop up, or maybe that asshole who fired me for not transferring calls to him while he was in the bathroom.

Because, this week? It's a small, small world.

***

There is a lot to say about yesterday, but since I haven't made a decision yet, or even really talked about it with Hugh (who is in Seattle, or San Jose, or Monterey... I forget) I am holding off... I will tell you this: it is a lot more than I bargained for. I thought if I was lucky I might score a monthly or bi-monthly writing gig, however, this is LOTS of writing EVERY month and, well, EXCITING, so just hang with me, ok?

This must be your week. Old boyfriends who aren't crazy visit, your cousin finds your blog and you get offered a super cool job-- how cool is that?

What did I do? Went to Spanish class, went to lunch with a friend and looked at furniture and took the kids to the park-- oh yes, I trimmed the trees.

if your column is anything like your blog - you'll having people either peeing their pants in hysterics or falling off their chairs from holding their breath to see what you have to write next.

So like, this whole paid gig isn't going to interfere with your time spent w/ us blogger peeps...because that just wouldn't be cool ;)

Ooooh yay new gigs. I actually emailed my first boyfriend a year ago just to say hi and see what was up, but I'm pretty sure he thought I was trying to get into his pants (I wasn't) so that was a pretty short stint. Yeah. Not intested, just friendly. Oh well!

Came over here from the CHBM web ring. I think this is my first comment on your site. Just wanted to say "hi". I like your blog.

That is so funny that your cousin found your blog randomly. I'm off to pull all the pictures of myself off my site--asap. :)

Yes, the internet makes this a small world indeed. Its a little spooky if you ask me.

And if one of my ex's called me out of the blue I don't think my husband would be quite as cool as your's. He's not a jealous guy, usually, but I think that would push him towards the jealous camp. I wonder if he'd start showering me with diamonds because he thought he was about to lose me. Hmmm...

Oh that's so awesome. My cousins only find my blog because I send them the URL and say "please read me? please? I'm horribly insecure!"

I'm hangin' with you. I can't wait to hear the news.

I'll even let you write about my glam life, too. Like how on Tuesdays and Thursdays when I work from home I don't get out of my pajamas until 3:00pm when it is time to pick Hugo up from daycare. And that's just a teaser... there's more where that came from, dear.

It's nice to reconnect with someone from your past like that, especially at a time when so many exciting things are in your future.

Congrats on the job offer...Yeeeheewww!!!!
Can not wait to read about it...

One of my husband's ex's was SATAN!!!!
Makes for an uncomfortable meeting when we see her...
However, I have heard years later (She is married) she drives by our house to get a glimpse of our kid...

Terrible, as all of my break ups were amicable and when i bump into them we always end up going for coffee/lunch or a cocktail...

And goodness knows something is going on in the universe as my past certainly bit me in the butt this month...

Waiting with happy anticipation of what lies ahead for you!!!
Champagne Wishes and Caviar Dreams Daaaaahlinggg...
Go For IT!!!!

I'm so excited for you! ahhhh! I feel like a little kid (a very tall, oldish looking kid - does that make me a freak? I don't have a big head or anything)

It's cool that your cousin found you. It's a small world.

Wow. I actually got one of those "Small world" emails a few days ago too! A friend from 2nd grade through high school (haven't talked to or seen her in like 7 years) randomly googled me and emailed! I was thrilled!

Too weird! Hope you didn't write about how evil your cousin is - he he he!

Teen memory rose colored glasses. That is so damn true. This is why I can never divorce my husband. No one else will see me as the cute 21 year old I once was.

My husband would have a shit fit if any ex-boyfriends showed up. Weirdly, we watched Broken Flowers last night, which is all about that very subject...

Coincidence? I THINK NOT!
