Hi! & Aloha!

Remember me? I am the girl in Hawaii, not at Blogher... I have however, just spent a good half and hour linking 'round the blogosphere at all the various stories and photos of the women whoopin' it up in San Jose... and not one person has mentioned that it would all be perfect if only Kristin from Eva Las Vegas was there.

Bitches.

Actually, after stalking through a mass assortment of Flickr photos, I feel some relief at not being amongst the beautiful and talented. I am with my mom. Who always thinks I am pretty. Except when I wear that one skirt with the sparkly thread.. then she tells me that, the tiered effect does nothing for me and haven't I worked rather hard to slim down those hips?

So. Hawaii. Let me say, being here is great. The weather is nicer than CA right now (pay no mind to those hurricane reports) and I like just hanging out. After what can only be summed up as, the busiest year of my life, (yes, I still calendar my years on the 9 month school schedule) to just relax is amazing. And hard to do. The first day the kids and I are all, "Whoo! nothing to do!" and then we all squabble for the next 2 days as we progress through the shock and adjustment of not spending a lot of time to-ing and fro-ing from various activities, not needing to have a cell phone wireless headpiece stuck to my face at all times like some crazy ass fast food clerk, not having various and sundry playdates/appointments/schedules. We seriously freak out a little and then, on day 3, we wake up and it takes us about an hour and a half to eat a bowl of cereal and we realize that we have fully switched to "holiday-mode".

In fact, we just spent the last 2 days out at the beach house where all we did was: go out to the beach, come in a nap, go back out to the beach. We also woke up early and drank guava juice and watched the A Team. My children and I are finding a great bond in mid-eighties television. We also like, Knight Rider and Hart to Hart. And, seriously, I wanted to be Jennifer Hart... I think I still do.

We are back in town and are going to go crazy and see a movie tonight. My mom is staying home with Eva and so I secretly want to go see Pirates, but I would then have to lie (and make the children lie as well) to Hugh because I stupidly promised that we would wait until he arrives on Thursday to see it.

Speaking of Hugh, 10 days is a long time to be away from him. For me and the kids. We miss him.

On the good side however, he has totally taken command of the house and the paint looks great and the floor demo starts on Monday and the man has motivated the action!

Hope you are all well... I am off to scour more blogher blogs.

I would post photos, but the laptop that I am using is possessed by the devil (as evidenced by the large gap between title and actual words) and, apparently, the devil wants nothing to do with my happy shiny pictures.

Also, I am probably not going to be able to comment all that much... the whole devil-in-the-computer thing is frustrating... but, check your site meter people, I am reading!

***

omg... i get internet out on the beach... i have a drink and satan's computer and the beach! hooray for dumbass neighbor who doesn't password protect his wireless!

So jealous. We're totally saving for a late honeymoon to Hawaii, it's just not in the cards this year. (and may actually quiz you about where to stay when there)

I could tell you were checking in because I've got a red dot there on Hawaii on my ClustrMap! I'm such a dork, but I think that thing is really cool.

It sounds like you and the kids are having a great time.

Aloha!

Oh, I remember Jennifer Hart and also wanted to be her! At one time I even named a dog "Max" after the Hart's butler! Sounds like you are having a fab time - keep up the relaxation mode as long as you can because the next school year is right around the corner!

I'm not sure who I am more jealous of -- you or the girls at BlogHer. It's a tough call.

Aloha sweetie!

God I wish I was there. And now the blogher people are exhausted and jet-lagged and you're still tanned and gorgeous out on the beach.

Of course I'm up at 4 to get ready for work...sigh.

Jealous! As if I don't have enough to be jealous of now I've got to envy you and your Hawaiian vacation. Why don't you tell me about your great sex life and awesome family relationships as well, why don't you?

Just kidding. I'm not bitter. This is what you get when you have a morning reading about BlogHer shenanigans.

I think I officially have a crush on you now, because I have ALWAYS had a crush on Jennifer Hart...ALWAYS! The way that she looks over at Robert Wagner when they're pretending they don't know each other while they're both driving their convertibles??? Her auburn hair blowing (perfectly) in the wind as she looks over seductively???
She's coy, she's strong, yet sexy, full of purpose and an air of elegance...wait a minute...maybe I want to be her too.
