The Desert Island Tag... Or, Where I Often Wish I Lived

The lovely Mrs. Chicky is busy cracking through her writer's block with champagne and memes and thank goodness she tagged me because, due to the blog censorship happening at my house, I am out of material.

Here I am... on a desert island... no Gilligan, no monsters from Lost... what do I hope I have with me?

BOOKS

Harry Potter. There I said it, I love Harry Potter and I am pretending there is a big anthology of books 1-6 (7!) and I have it in my carry on bag.

David Sedaris because really, if I am on an island, I am going to need a fucking laugh.

Savage Beauty. The story of Edna St. Vincent Millay not only gets me a fantastic time and again read, but also, amazing, thought provoking soul sustaining poetry.

MOVIES

Zoolander. I can watch this over and over and over and laugh and laugh and laugh. Tasty Owen Wilson doesn't hurt... But, hmmm... I am also a big fan of Manhattan Murder Mystery. And Dr. Zhivago (Please tell me I am not the only one who watches and every single time hopes that this will be the time Lara will finally turn around and see him?!) Ok, movie #1 may be open to discussion.

The Notebook. Laugh now. I cry every time. I love those people! Senior romance, people! Also, major hotties for nights alone under the coconut tree fantasies.

Bride and Prejudice. Look, a Bollywood movie with some jazzy moves and Indian pop is right up my alley.

ALBUMS

Nonsense. I'm taking my iPod. But, If I had to chose, I could listen to Iz, Madonna and Barenaked Ladies for the rest of my life and be happy.

PEOPLE

Hot Damn! Or, and this is for Lisa's grandma, Hot Diggity! I can bring people & apparently spouses and children are not eligible.

I think I am also going to have to bring George Clooney. We can talk politics and have hot sex (island fantasy people!)

Ok, instead of bringing David Sedaris' books, I could just bring Mr. Sedaris himself! I think that George and David and I could have some nice little dinners...

A girlfriend. I love my girlfriends... but do any of them love me enough to come to my island and not be allowed to jump on George?

Ok, let's see... who wants to be next? Sunshine Scribe, Jodi, Stephanie of Pickleness & Kevin... you're up!

Crouching Mother Hidden Diva... I am tagging you too... HAHAHAHA! It's tagging-mania!

*** UPDATE ***

For my husband who is not pleased with my "hot sex with George Clooney" comment... I would totally stay loyal... George could beg and plead and I would say, "Step off, Georgie... I am waiting for rescue... now, let's go chat with David."

*** UPDATE #2***

Ok, movie choice has been made... I am taking The Brothers McMullen and She's The One... they are both Ed Burns movies so they count as one.

OK, I'm up for your tag. Great list, btw.

And you know, if you take David, you so have to take his sister Amy with you. Those two together, I am sure, could entertain anyone for an eternity!

" do any of them love me enough to come to my island and not be allowed to jump on George?"

too funny... well, if it is a fantasy it would be YOUR way so no problem there, I'd think.

Oh no, you don't! I have George on MY deserted island (see my Friday post). He's my masseuse, dammit. I got neeeeeeeeds.

OK, I would definately take all the HP books too AND Manhattan Murder Mystery - Woody Allen (besides the fact that he married his adopted daughter) still cracks me up!
Although, I might have to nix George Clooney for Johnny Depp or Hugh Grant.

I thought I was the only one out there who loved Bride and Prejudice. Anytime I need a pick me up, I pop this in and dance around the house. "No life without wife!"

DAMN IT!!! okay, I have to think about this... if you smell smoke, that's me... don't worry. Well, you can worry, but it's me.

Harry Potter - definitely. If no one likes it, they can eat me.
Sedaris? - most definitely.
How could Lara NOT turn around??? Breaks my heart every god-damn time.
I think that we're going to be wrestling Christina for George.
Okay, I'm going to go make my list.
DAMN IT! I'm supposed to be working. fuck it.

Ok, I've never even seen those 3 movies and they're so good they're at the top of the desert island list?!! I'm going to have to get them immediately.

David Sedaris... Great idea. I think he might fight you for George Clooney, though.

I agree about Zoolander, makes me cry with laughter every time. As for George, isn't he getting on a bit (don't shoot me!!)

I love all Ben Stiller movies!

And can I go with you to your island? I would like to partake in the dinner with George. (or whatever man you want to share)

I'd want Stephen Hawkings on my island for sure. I'd have to think about possible others.

Is it wrong that my favorite part of zoolander is when they are dancing around w/ the gas station pump?

Clearly the best part.

I love the Brothers McMullen, Dr. Zhivago, and Bride & Prejudice. All three are among my favourite movies. Ed Burns makes my knees weak. I've seen BNL in concert 4 times.
