I'm busy packing, so...

the following is from my boys... please take a moment to say hello and let them know how very interesting you find them ;-) ! They have been dying to post something, so this is big stuff for them... Jack is almost 8 and Jake is 9.

Hi everybody it's JACK. I'm here to tell you about my hobbies. I Like to play RUNESCAPE a lot. I also like to do art, play with my best friend Jake P., watch T.V.
& play tennis. I like snow dogs as in Huskies and Malamutes. Feb. 18th, 2006, I saw EIGHT BELOW in theater 8. My 2nd favorite dog is a Beagle.

Hello it's Jake and I LOVE video games. I like to play a game called Runescape. I also like a game called Heli Attack 3. My friends like to play the same games too. I like action movies and games and Harry Potter. Swimming is really exercising and I am a blue belt in karate. That's all folks!

Oh dear, so much video game talk... as a mother I feel I should go through this and replace "TV" with "reading" and "Runescape" with "chess"...

Updated question:

Does "ski week" take place all over the country or is this just particular to our little neck of the woods? Is it maybe just called, "winter break" or something less, shall we say, precious elsewhere?

Well, we're on our way... and, by "we" I mean: myself and the 3 kids, my girlfriend and her 3 kids and another girlfriend and her 2 kids... ZOINKS! What about the men you ask? Nope... they don't get ski week. We have packed copious amounts of wine because we (the mothers) excel at apres ski and that is pretty much how we roll around here...all mothers, all the time & sometimes those mothers are drunk. After the kids are in bed, Internet! After!

I think 'Ski Week' is a South County thing. I have a friend who used to teach at Mariner's Church elementary school and they had a week off for that, too. In Surf City we're just off for the presidents' birthdays.

Jake and Jack, you two sound like a couple of cool guys! I enjoyed reading your posts. Have a great time on the slopes! Be safe!!!

Hey Jake and Jack

I've never played Runescape, but I do love video games. Right now I'm working my way through Metal Gear Solid 2, so keep those playstations going!

Jack, I love art too, and I used to have a beagle named Snoopy. I'm sure he would have loved to meet you.

Jake, Harry Potter is awesome, and keep going with that karate!!

Hi Jack and Jake! My son is a bit older (17) and likes "Neverwinter Nights". He also like to skateboard and snowboard. He's out of school all this next week and he's going to hit the slopes. Will you be doing that too?

We live in San Jose, California, and I'm certain that it's "ski week" all over the Bay Area next week. It was impossible to rent boots so we had to buy them! (I can't believe my baby boy wears a size 15 boot! :)

Hi Jack and Jake. Nice to "meet" you. Can you do me a favor? Will you come back and explain to an old geezer like me what the heck Runescape is? Sounds like fun. Have a blast sking. Break a leg. NO WAIT!!! DON'T DO THAT! I was kidding. Sorry Mom

Oh and one other thing, don't come to my blog unless your mom knows about it. I say bad words once in awhile. And just so you know, I'll be able to tell if you were there so no sneaking behind mom's back. Okay?

J.D. said...

Yeah, but you can come to mine, because I don't use dirty words :)

Jack & Jake - you are very cool young men. You are awesome big brothers, and your sister/s are very lucky!!

Kristin, just a tip; if you leave the skis at home, you'll have more room for the wine ;-)
Have a great time. We will be expecting pics, you know!!
Holly

PS. sorry, I was the one who deleted the last post. too much whine/wine myself....

Hi J & J. Nice to meet you. My son is 7 going on 8. He has 4 younger sisters to cope with on a daily basis. He hasn't ever played Runescape, but I bet he'd love to learn from you two. What game system do you play it on?

He also likes to eat strange food combinations. You don't happen to like a mixture of orange jello and New England clam chowder soup do you? If so, then you could easily be best buds with my son! :)
