Let's Hug It Out...

Here is the thing about having a blog which is known and read by actual real people in your life... your parents, your in-laws, your friends, even your employer... when you want to really kvetch about something you simply can't.

So, lalalalala... strawberries and fairies and unicorns... lalalalalala... nope, no issues here.

Ah, but blogs are places we can use to vent, aren't they? Because, if they're not, then I'm misusing my blog site.

You can go private -- by invitation only.

Hmmm...indulge in a little dark fantasy about what you' really like to say.

Yeah, ever since I was found out by my in-laws in Viet Nam I refuse to really write about the stuff I am pissed about. sucks.

Time for a secret, double-agent blog location...

I'm coming out of lurking for this one - I love your blog and have been reading it since last summer. We are awaiting our referal from China - lid 10-27-06. This post hit home b/c my family reads my blog and there are times I have to really think twice about my blogging. My mom is on it at least 5x a day! Hmmm, how to get around this- anyway, your family is beautiful and your blog is great -

I think you are all correct... I need a Double Secret Probabtion Blog... when it is up and venting, I will post here and you can email me if you want the password...

I feel ya, girl. I always wish that I could talk about certain things--be they about the family/friends or not, but even if I'm NOT talking about them, will they think that I'm talking about them? Or there's an issue that I want to talk about, but it affects people that I love who would be offended about what I think. (Hint: You will never read about child obesity or pitbulls on my blog). (Also hint: I hate pitbulls. And I think childhood obesity has gone through the roof. There. :)

Okay. Now back to you. Er, doesn't Her Bad Mother have a basement you can use to vent? I seem to remember something about that. Maybe.

Yes, I hear you on that one! On the one hand I'm pleased that my parents bother to look at it, on the other hand...

Need someone's blog to borrow for your rant? My rent's pretty cheap :-)

crazymumma said...

Oh...when I read strawberries and fairies and unicorns I just split a gut laughing!

Hope you find an outlet. Like Dan said. But I hope I get an invitation......

dodo said...

you could always borrow someone else's blog for the afternoon?

Ugh, I know! I can't talk about certain people and it's stifling! It defeats the purpose of having a blog in the first place, but, what to do?

If you wrote about it, it would hurt their feelings and potentially make things worse, but not to write about it feels weird and dishonest.

I have spent a whole lot of time NOT writing lately, but there's a ton to write about....

I let it all out on my blog. Say what you gootta say! It may make a bad situation better.

So true, so true. I'm not quite sure why the heck I gave out to web address to some too close to me. At times it is wee bit censoring, yes?

Sweetie, I hope everything is alright.

Hugs and smooches.

(and start a private/invitation only blog, you goon.)

Lisa said...

Ohhhh. I am intrigued.

You can always pull a switch-a-roo. You can have my space for a day or week or month. Your employer, hubby, family would be none the wiser.

You know, I am more in a "Bitchy McBitch-Bitch mood" than actually upset... I have a frustration level of epic proportions, but you know, I am trying to be all "The Secret" and Oprah about things. ;-)

Or, look for me in Her Bad Mother's Basement.

Anonymous said...

you already know what happened to me when I vented real frustration in my blog...i didn't receive two xmas cards this year from people i think i accidently insulted via my sometimes angst-riddled rantings. and my husband, well, he was just wayyyy toooo sensitive...

maybe i'll join you in double secret probation blog land....

it's jenn...can't sign in with my blogger name for some reason.

Shelley said...

Wow. Sounds like this calls for a Martini lunch. :)

Ah yes ...
one of the BIG advantages to having a private blog.

And that, my dear, is exactly why my blog remains a secret to everyone I know! It's liberating ...

Damselfly said...

Yeah, I tell people everything's just fine and nothing is less than perfect, otherwise I get an earful.

Pollyanna said...

that sucks. and is why nobody in my real life will ever know about my blog! I'm sorry you can't vent here, poor Kristen!

A said...

I know how you feel! I usually need to vent about my in-laws but I just found that they read my blog. Crap, I need to start a blog about them but not enough time for two blogs!

Jewels of My Heart said...

I hope I am not discovered on your blog..... A certain in-law is very upset with me because there are not pictures of the rest of the family on my blog (Grandma).... It's true... only pictures of my kids.... hmmmmmmm maybe I should start carrying pictures of everyone to show off in my wallet too..... sorry, I am being bad!

Cathy said...

All my family and friends know about mine too. They won't visit though because they're scared they are going to read about themselves, lol. Smart people. :D
