Why I Let Eva Solve All My Problems

Sometimes, when things get stressful, the best thing for a person to do is dance around the room and get a little twirly...

Do you ever have one of those moments where BAM! you are just overwhelmed with a physical and almost primal love for your children? There you are, going about your daily business and they are doing their kid stuff, and maybe your mind is on things like lattes and tile grout, when you happen to glance over at them doing something totally normal and ordinary but you almost start to cry because you just love them so much that at that moment it hurts a little?

Yes, yes and yes! Little buggers have a bad habit of stopping me in my tracks too!

YES! Well said. I never could figure out a way to put it in words. I get overwhelmed by love when it's time to put her to bed. I get all upset inside because I'm not ready to put her down and not see her until the next day! I'm a cornball.

Thankfully, this happens every single day. They are such great levellers!

I agree with jemima3 but once in a while when they are up and you just want those moments to last.

Not yet, but it's one of the things I can not wait to experience!

I know that feeling.

It's almost overwhelming - all that love that comes pouring out.

Love you back - am a SUBSCRIBER! And thanks for the comment about the photo - means a lot considering the jerky comments you go about your ALSO GORGEOUS new-ish photo!

It's been awhile, but yeah it does/did happen. Especially when you get the "I love you, mom!" out of the blue.

Ok, now you guilted me into letting them have their friends over again tonight to go 'camping' in our backyard. I was on the fence, but you pushed me over. Damn you.

I've had those moments. I wish I could remember what it was that J was doing but I know I've felt that way before.

Yeah, yeah, I do. Except your Eva looks just too cute to me too. I wonder if I can get one of my boys to wear a dress and shoes and spin around like that. Then again....

First of all congrats on the column.

Secondly, I TOTALLY know what you are talking about with the kids just stopping you dead in your tracks, when you feel your heart flutter and spasm and a lump forms in your throat, and wondering how you EVER lived without them or how you could live without them NOW if something happened. Ya know? that's what takes my breath away, the thought of something happening to my boys. *sigh*

yes. That is usually when I smother them with love. I call it a love attack. I kiss them manaically and yell "LOVE ATTACK" and they scream and kick, but I know they love it too.

(this comment sounds really weird and twisted, but it isn't, I am serious)

I still remember the first time it happened with Claire. I was aching inside. I couldn't explain it to anyone. Very cute pic!

I think only people who've been exposed to little children really know what "love you so much it hurts" feels like.
I could be wrong... but I know that's when I first had that feeling.

Absolutely! The last few time were just watching DAUGHTER 4 toddle around and learn to walk. SHe gets this ear to ear grin as if to say "Hey look what I invented! Look what I can do!"
