Hola!

Como es usted? That's right... our new nanny (while the muy fabuloso Deysi is on maternity leave) speaks nada English and has caused me to bookmark Altavista's "Babel Fish".

This is what comes from taking 6 years of French and while I can parlez (parle? parles?) with the best of them (peut-etre), I should have been taking Spanish...perhaps, one might think, a more useful language for a gal living in CA...

Here is the rub: Eva speaks/comprehends Spanish fairly well (for a 2 year old) and you should see the look on people when she spits out, "Agua, mama"... you can see their minds race: Chinese kid, Honky mother, Spanish words? It's madness I tell you!!

So, I am off al doctor (thanks Babel Fish!)... I shall escriba more later...
